Step 1: Registration of the Product to be Imported
Note: DOE will classify the products into three categories that will require the importer to provide different documents with their application:
- Category A - products are already registered in another country that uses the same MEPS standards and energy labeling.
- Category B - Identical product registered in another country that uses the same MEPS standards and energy labeling, but intended to be sold under a different brand or model number in Fiji
- Category C - Not registered in any other country that uses the same MEPS standards and energy labeling, and therefore needs to be registered with DOE
1.2 If registration is required, you must submit the required documents to the DOE.
1.3 DOE will review the documents submitted
1.4 If any documents are missing or incomplete, the trader will be notified and requested to submit the necessary documentation.
1.5 If approved, the products will be registered.
1.6 If rejected, you will be informed of the reasons for rejection
Required Documents
Category A
- Confirmation of the registration number from the approved country
Category B
- A declaration from the manufacturer that the product is identical to a registered model in an approved country (source model).
- The registration number of the source model from the approved country.
- A declaration from the retailer.
- Energy Rating Label.
Category C
- A full test report in accordance with AS/NZS standards.
- Energy Rating Label.
